She spends a lot of time down at the Pecan restaurant and she is well known in liked by her customers and staff. Tianna is trying to figure out a way to make it big in the industry, but she has other things on her mind also.  Tianna is part owner of The Cliff, a gym that she and her husband Eric opened.  Tiana loves her husband and she knows that he loves her also, but Tianna has a sneaky feeling about what is going on down at the gym.

Scandalous Acts The Tianna Fox story is the beginning of a juicy action filled series. Kia Summers has written a series that is going to be filled with plenty of drama. This series is a romance series and it is going to pull it your heartstrings while she gets to the bottom of everything. Summers has gotten you interested in these characters and she makes you want more.  I am looking forward to reading the books that follow this opening book. These characters are interesting. Good job on the beginning series of Scandalous Acts.

Marriage.  A lifelong commitment.  A vow between two lovers.  To love, honor and respect until death due us part.  That is a heavy statement for anyone to make one time, but when you make that vow multiple times people start talking.  Are you really marrying for love or is it something else?  How do you know when it’s enough?

Ivy Raye is a simple woman.  She gets up and goes to work and back home she goes.  Her best friend is her mother, Mama Kay.  Ivy only has one problem, she loves to get married.  I guess that would be a good thing for any other single woman who has been looking for a mate but Ivy seems never to have a problem finding the next one.  Mama Kay doesn’t seem to find a problem with Ivy marrying so many times, she just wants her daughter to be happy.  If Ivy’s happy then Mama is happy, but the moment Ivy is no longer happy then it is time to move on to the next one.

Her 13th Husband is a book that will keep you looking at the pages thinking “I know she didn’t!”  The way that B.M. writes this book you are just waiting on the other shoe to drop . . . And it does!  The cast of characters (no matter how short lived) will have you talking back to the book.  When they ask a question in the book, you find yourself talking to the book asking the same question!  It is a great read as usual coming from this author, I have read several of her novels and I have been pleased with each of them.  Double check you proofreading and spell check but over all it was a very good read.  I would recommend it to everyone.

Second chances are a good thing.  If you are allowed a second chance odds are that you just barely missed the mark the first and you are worthy of a do over.  In relationships it is generally a testament of love if a couple gets a second chance.  The key is to learn from the mistakes from the first time around and try not to make them again.  Is this an easy task?  For some it is no problem but for others some things never change.

Zandra Jones can’t believe her life is going like it is.  She finally got a chance to be with the man that she has loved all of her life and things have spiraled out of control.  First, they finally expressed to each other how they felt about each other.  Then to make their relationship successful Zandra left and went to college so that there was no interference from her mother.  But once she got there all hell broke loose and she ended up leaving to be with her one true love, Pascal.  But she didn’t leave before breaking the ultimate rule and ended up in a situation that could only be fixed in a few months.  Now living with Pascal Jr. alone in their apartment that she once shared with Sr., Zandra is trying to get her life back on track.  Zandra was confused and didn’t know what to do but she did know one thing, she wanted to be happy with the one that she loved.  The only thing is the universe seemed to have other plans.  Will Zandra ever achieve total happiness or is she destined to live a life of misery?

A Test Of Love is the second book in this series and you can see the growth of the author.  While we have the same characters from the first novel you see who she is moving them in and out of the story and keep you interested in the read.  At one point I found myself pausing while reading because I was wiping tears at what was going on.  The characters stayed on my mind about what was happening in their situation well past when I read about it, I like that in a read.  Monay is improving her writing style and the ability to hold her reader captive, and that is a good thing.  I gladly await the conclusion to this series to see which way it is going to go.  Good job Angela!

Zandra Jones is the youngest in her family. Sometimes this makes her the most sensitive but it also makes her the most feisty of the group.  Zandra’s brother Adrian is the oldest of the clan but is also her biggest defender. He doesn’t let anyone hurt Zandra if he can help it. When Zandra reveals her true feelings about who she loves, Adrian is right there to support her. When Zandra get the opportunity to be with her true love she is on cloud nine. This is who she believes to be her soul mate but will everything go as she has dreamed? Will this be everything that she believes it will be or will she be disappointed?

The Test Of Time is a book about faith. The characters have faith in their loved ones that they will always be there to provide love and support to them no matter what. What they find is something different, the support that is given and the love that is received is something to be desired. The characters are aggressive but the story has a decent flow to it. There a few things that caught my eye that Monay might want to improve upon. Watch your editing.  When running spell check programs if you misspell a word but it is an actual word it will not repair it. Also it might make it easier to recognize who the next chapter is about by placing their name at the beginning of the chapter under the number for the chapter. Lastly, page number would help with tracking your progress in the book ~ but that might be the signature of the author. All in all it was a good read and I am looking forward to reading the next installment in this series.

Stalker by Brenda Hampton

When you hear the word stalker you immediately know that there is going to be problems. What causes a person to become a stalker? Basically it is some sort of obsession with a person. But why that particular person? Is it something they said or something they did? Were they extra nice and you took it to mean something else? Is there any way to stop a stalker or do they just stop on their own? Can you persuade the stalker to change their ways or is this something that is just going to have to play out? What do you do?

Abigal Wilson is a divorcee who is trying to get back into the dating scene, with a teenaged daughter to boot.  Her daughter, Kendall, is constantly fighting with her about every little thing. Her biggest fight is about the man she is dating, Brent. Kendall doesn’t like Brent and Abby isn’t listening because she is in love. Abby and Brent have date night one night and afterwards he tells her that they need to have a talk. The bomb he drops on her knocks her off her feet. She is resistant to accept his words and she decided to investigate what he told her. What Abigal finds out crushes her heart but she is not going to leave it at that. She will NOT be treated like this and if she is unhappy, everybody is going to be unhappy! Who if anybody will come out the victor? How will this change the lives of everybody involved?

Stalker, just by the title you can tell it is going to be drama. Whenever you read a Brenda Hampton book you know you are going to get a good story that will keep you on the hook until the last word and then some! This book has the energy that you need so that you will read until it is finished. I am reviewing the Audible version because just looking at the title I knew that this version would have me on the edge of my seat with my mouth agape! The narrator, Patricia Floyd, did not disappoint with this novel. You find yourself talking back and pausing the reading so that you can gather yourself. I loved this book and I certainly am never disappointed when it comes to Hampton. Kudos again on another great novel!

Appearances Too: A Novel by K. Reshay

There comes a time in our lives where we have to go along to get along.  Meaning go along with the program so that there are no issues.  Sometimes that isn’t a problem if everyone is on the same page but when you have someone who has a different agenda then you have to figure out another way to “get along.”  How would you proceed if the very person that you are supposed to “get along” with is moving forward with a different plan?  Do you stick to the original plan or do you play follow the leader?

Toni and Ty are having a rough time of it.  Ty is still in the hospital from his brutal attack and Toni is right by his side.  Toni is trying to help him remember but she just doesn’t have the answers that Ty is looking for.  Ty is upset with Toni because she is useless in this process.  This makes Toni feel helpless but who can she turn to?  What can Toni do to help Ty along this journey?  Is it her job to help or should she just let nature run its course?

Mya and Steven are so much in love.  As Mya prepares for her wedding that will top all weddings she stops to think about her best friend Toni and her husband Ty.  She wonders what is going on with them ONLY because she overheard her soon to be husband Steven and their friend Rickey talking.  Mya is now wondering about reaching out to inquire about a few things that she overheard.  But on second thought, if it doesn’t directly affect Mya then it is none of her concern.  What type of friend doesn’t check on her best friends’ husband?  How much longer is Mya going to play the victim and be a real and true friend to Toni?

Appearances Too is the follow-up book to Appearances where it tells the story of college friends that move forward with their lives.  The problem is that sometimes you have to put up appearances to deal with certain people or situations.  The characters in this book work well together.  The story line keeps you wondering what is going on and have you thinking of ways to fix the problems.  I read the book in a few hours so you will too.  K. Reshay did a very good job on this second edition and I can’t wait on the next novel.

Manipulate: to treat or operate with or as if with the hands or by mechanical means especially in a skillful manner.  When dealing with relationships at one point or another someone in the relationship is going to try to steer it in a certain direction.  Whether it be by physical or emotional guidance, the end result is someone is going to like the way that it is headed and hopefully for the relationship, both will be in agreement.  What happens when the direction it is headed in is an unhealthy one?  Who or how will this be redirected?  Is it better to let just one person manipulate the flow or should this be a team effort?  Is it possible for both parties to manipulate the relationship?

Saint Matthews is an interesting young man.  From very young in life he did things his own way.  Saint was never one to follow the crowd, if anything he had the masses following him.  Saint never allowed anyone to get ahead of his thinking, he was always one maybe even two steps ahead of everyone else.  When it comes to getting what he wants, Saint gets his way with everyone.  Saint sought out his prey carefully and very specifically to what his needs were at that particular time.  Saint played this game of cat and mouse very skillfully but how does it feel when the tables are turned?  When the hunter becomes the hunted?  Is there a way to get out of the cross hairs or will Saint fall victim and be on the receiving end of what he has put everyone else through?

Every Ounce You Got To Give is an intense read.  At first you are wondering why would someone behave like this and then you are wondering how is this going to end because some just deserves are due.  The flow of this story is constant, you will not have a difficult time reading this.  The characters are not to complex for this freshman novel, you can understand and attempt to relate to them.  The story gives you enough where you want to continue to read even if you are mad at the characters.  The only distraction was the editing needs to be improved.  Not too many typos where you can’t understand the novel but just enough where you know they are there.  All in all for a freshman novel it is a good read.

Appear ~ to be or to come into sight.  When you appear somewhere, you are able to be seen or at the very least your presence is known.  Some people make a grand appearance because they like to be seen while others just are barely noticeable.  However you appear to a person it will be a lasting impression, that’s why when you show your true self you are never forgotten.

Toni and Maya met on the first day of college.  Their first time being away from home they developed a quick bond.  To them, they were the sisters that the other never had.  As they get older and hopefully a little bit wiser, they start to discover things about each other that is not very favorable.  What should they do?  How should they go about addressing these issues and is it even worth speaking about?  Can and will the friendship survive or will they go their separate ways?

Appearances is a book about realization.  When you meet a person you are seeing what they want you to see, not the real and true them.  As time goes along, you start to get comfortable and the real them makes an appearance.  That is what is happening in this story, it is about friends who eyes aren’t totally open towards each other.  The story line flows and the book makes you take another look at the characters.  You are trying to decide if you really like that person or were you tricked.

The excitement that occurs in this freshman novel is the beginning to a very long writing career and I look forward to reading more from Reshay.  Congratulations to a very good start!

Marriage is probably the hardest job you will ever have in your life.  It is hard enough trying to figure out what you like and what makes you happy now you have to figure out and maintain what makes someone else happy too.  There has to be an easier way.  When you are getting to know a person and decide to get married, you are still learning about that person.  As long as you are together you will always find out something new about that person.  What if the new things you discover is something that you are not willing to accept or deal with?  How will your life proceed then?

Sassi is just making it by.  Never would she had thought that her life would be so complicated. While she thought she knew that she married the right man she had began to have doubts.  It wasn’t uncommon for a bride or groom to have butterflies on their wedding day, that was a big step!  What was uncommon was for her to continue to wonder.  Yes she loved Eddie and yes she loved their family but why was the butterflies still there after ten years ?  Had she always felt like this and just put it on the back burner or was this something new that she was letting come to the forefront?

The Wrong Husband 2 is picking up where The Wrong Husband left off.  You have everyone trying to be with and figure out who they are supposed to be with.  Hardin brings a new twist to this book and it had me walking away from the book to get myself together.  You have characters that will have you thinking “what in the hell is she thinking?” or wondering “where can I find this author, I’m mad now!”  I love writing that get you in your feelings, that makes the book more relatable to the reader.  The story line had a certain flow to it that allows you to keep up with is going on  and not be lost.  I will continue to read books by Hardin if she keeps writing like this!

CHERISH . . .TIL DEATH DO US PART!  These words that are read during a traditional wedding ceremony are very specific, they are set up that way to give you some direction in married life.  If you know how to follow directions, marriage should be easy for you.  What happens when the directions aren’t followed?  How are you supposed to proceed in a successful marriage if no one is doing what is supposed to be done?  How do you get granted a do over or is it allowed?

Sassi is married to Eddie and has been for the past 9 years.  They met in a bar 11 years ago and they were both drawn to each others conversation.  They had two children as a result of this union.  Life should have been grand!  One of the disadvantages to being happy and doing well for yourself and your family is there is always going to be some miserable person that wants to bring you down.  The catch is they are a wolf in sheep’s clothing.  How do you get rid of this negativity in your life?  Do you fight to stay in the marriage or do you let this outside force interfere?

The Wrong Husband is an exciting book, you can tell that from the title.  Reading this book you will go through a range of emotions because the characters are just that good.  You will find yourself talking to the characters and waiting on them to respond to you.  The story line is strong and the characters flow well with each other.  You will not get lost reading BUT you won’t be able to predict what is coming next.  Very well written and it has you wanting more.  This is my first time reading a book written by Hardin but it is not my last.
