Love, Sex and Ink Season 1: Episode 1 is indicating in the title that this is the beginning of a block buster series! The book has everything that you need as far as a series would go. You have love, romance, drama, sex and raw emotions which is enough for anyone who is an avid reader. This Episode 1 is a quick read, a mere 100 pages, which a sequel book should be. What this episode does is it makes you want to read the next episode and see where this story goes. Not only do you have your two main characters but you have the other tattoo artists: Ness, King Hippo and Little Byrd. Plus who knows what is going to happen with the people in the beauty shop next door. Williams is the type of author who makes you want to know what he is writing next. I am patiently waiting on the next installment of the Love, Sex and Ink series. Tony Kent is a millionaire by default due to taking over the family business. What he is is a self made billionaire due to his vision for greatness. He took over the family business and developed his real estate and music productions companies. He is all business with no time for fun or love. What happens when Tony finds himself being distracted from business? Will he allow himself to be human or will he just continue to keep being all business?

The Plus Sized Model and The Billionaire is a good read. It gives you joy, sadness and every other emotion that you would like to experience. The flow of the book is good but there are typos that sometimes make you reread a sentence in order to know what the author is talking about. This book appears to not have been edited the best but it is still a good read. The author Samantha Daily has several books in this plus size genre, I just hope they were edited better. I would recommend this book .

Is He The One by Janie De Coster

Have you ever looked at a person and said to yourself “that is the man/woman who I am going to spend the rest of my life with?”  I’m sure we all have, but what makes us so sure that person is the one for us?  Is it their looks, or maybe their income or could it be the way that they showed you their dreams?  How do you know who “your” forever person is?

Jayree Kennedy knows what she wants.  She is going to find and fall in love with her dream guy and live happily ever after.  She knows he is out there she just hasn’t found him yet.  She continues to tell her sister Teresa and her best friend Linda but they just let her have her fairytale.  Is there someone out there for everyone or is Jayree just wasting her time?  How do you know when you have finally met “THE ONE” and is he/she everything that you imagined?

Teresa Wilson Jayree’s sister,  has felt like her bond with her sister isn’t as strong as it used to be.  Those two girls could talk about anything, that is until Teresa met and married Ray Ray Wilson.  Ray Ray is the one topic in the family that can stir the pot and make it boil over, but Teresa doesn’t care because she loves him.  There is nothing that can separate Teresa and Ray Ray and she is going to live her happily ever after.  How does it feel when your happily ever is starting to feel like the happy is slipping away?  Is there something that can make everybody happy again or was it all just a dream?

Linda is Jayrees’ best friend since forever and they are thick as thieves.  Their bond got stronger when Lisa’s fiance Phillip left Linda at the alter the previous year.  Jayree was there for Linda like a friend should be but Linda decided to take Phillip back.  Phillip provided Linda with everything that she would need to look and be successful but was that enough?  Is having the material things enough or should she continue to shoot for your forever dream?

Is He The One is a story about one thing . . . achieving happiness.  Three different couple take roads to achieve happiness but they go different ways to get it done.  The characters are relatable because this could be you and your friends on any day and that is what makes it an easy and enjoyable read. I enjoy reading De Coster’s work because she makes you feel like one of the family.

Something Peculiar About Austin Valentine by Carla Terrell

Differences are what makes you unique.  There are many things that cause us to be different but at the same time it is what makes us similar.  Love is an act that is obtainable by everyone and everything but sometimes things are not supposed to love one another ~ that is according to the ones who feel like they speak for everyone.  We are in times where love appears different but who says that different is not good for us?

Austin Valentine is a god-loving, god-fearing man who loves all people.  He is business partners with his friend from high school and he is engaged to Haley, the love of his life.  When Austin get stranded in an elevator with a stranger for hours, conversations lead him to rethink his life and his thinking.  How could he be living life and been blind to life at the same time?  Is it possible that he has been wrong all this time?

Simone Watson is a beautiful, single African-American woman who is an interior designer.  There is nothing in her life that she would change, life is good.  A chance meeting with a stranger along with a conversation gives Simone something to think about, but why?  Simone has everything all figured out, so why is this stranger giving her pause?

Something Peculiar About Austin Valentine is a story about love.  The issues and problems that faces these characters is their race.  This is an easy but intense read.  For as much as society doesn’t want to deal with race, it is on the fore front of many minds.  This book has a nice flow to it and the author gives us something to think about.  I love Terrell’s work and I look forward to more.

Something New: An Interracial Romance by Janie De Coster

In the world that we live in today it seems like race determines everyones motive.  You can barely talk to anyone without race coming into the conversation, since when did race become so important?  When and how did race make decisions for the smallest of things?  Are we a better society if we let race rule our decisions or should we let fate take it’s course?

Tobias Benton is a legacy kid.  His family has been in business and politics for as long as he can remember and he is next in line to take over the family business.  He thought that he was content with his current life until he determined that he is following a dream that was created for him NOT by him.  He does not have the same views that his family has and that is going to create waves for him.  How does he have the life that he deserves and keep his family happy at the same time?  If a decision is put in front of him, will he go along to get along or will he be the independent man that he was raised to be?

Something New is a romance novel.  From the title you can see that it is an interracial novel but the romance overrules the racial.  It is written about two people in love that just happen to be of a different race but that does not overpower the novel.  I love the way that De Coster makes this a standalone but it is clear that it could go into series.  The characters just flow with each other and you can see this playing out like it is right in front of you.  It has you asking questions of the characters and even talking back to them.  I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read, I read it in one day so you could too.
