When you hear the word violate in today’s climate most people think the same thing: sexual abuse.  When you look it up in the dictionary the definitions are: to fail to show proper respect for; break, disregard; to do harm to the person or especially the chastity of; interrupt, disturb.  With the definitions of the word violate showing, is there any way that this word doesn’t equal hurt and pain?  Is there any way that you can stop someone from violating you?  How do we break this horrible cycle?

Le’Nita Marie Spivey is a beautiful person, both inside and out.  She has grown up in a very large very loving family.  She comes from a solid Christian based home and has grown up instilling the same teachings and values in her children that were instilled in her.  The one thing that is holding Le’Nita back is her past.  She is being the best person that she can be but her past won’t let her be great like she knows she is.  How can you deal with the demons of your past and still have a bright future for you and your children?  Is it possible to survive your past and have a prosperous future?  Will your actions of the past damage your children or future relationships?

Violated is a book about trust.  When you trust a person to stand by you and have your back and they don’t you feel violated.  When you have a person in your life that is not supposed to hurt you but they do it makes you feel some kind of way.  It is about trust and rebuilding trust, trust in others and trust in yourself.  The story line in the book is real.  It is emotional and it is unfortunately today’s reality.    This book is going to help someone who is and/or was in a similar situation.  This book will show you that healing is possible and for that I thank Mrs. Carter.  It takes a brave person to write a novel like this on a subject that is so taboo.  It flows and gives you the desire to continue reading even though you might feel slightly disturbed.  This is a great book and I would gladly recommend it to anyone.
