Kiss Me Before You Say Goodnight by Keith Kareem Williams

KMBYSGObsession or infatuation, is there a difference?  When you are obsessed you are preoccupied with someone but when you are infatuated you are admiring that person.  But truly is there a major difference?  If all feels the same, right?  The main objective is that your attention is held by a certain person.  What happens when it turns extreme?  Are you capable of walking away or do you have to follow the feeling through?

Omari is a regular guy.  He goes to work and comes home.  There is nothing that stands out in his routine.  Until one day when he goes into a bar to have a drink and realizes that there is a beautiful woman sitting alone.  Being the gentleman that he is he approaches her but what he doesn’t realize is this is probably the worst idea in his entire life.  Omari’s life is turned upside down and trying to figure out how to upright it is going to be the most drastic time in his life.  What should Omari do, he is too deep to turn back?  Will life ever seem normal again or will he be on this whirlwind indefinitely?

Andressa is a beautiful woman, any man can see that if he isn’t vision impaired.  Her physical qualities are enough to make a room full of men pause.  Andressa has a different agenda on her mind but no one would ever have guessed her plan.  Andressa is a very cunning player in this game we call life but while she plays, how many will get hurt?  Is she the best player at this game or will she lose in the end?

Kiss Me Before Saying Goodnight is a romantic suspense novel.  You have two strangers who have a chance meeting and before long they are partners in crime.  They characters are intense and compliment each other which makes the story flow nicely.  It is a short read but it has you reading and watching for more.  Williams is an excellent storyteller and he keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting for what is coming next.  Great job once again, you don’t disappoint.

Dreams Thrown Away ~ The Sperling Chronicles by Dilsa Saunders Bailey

dream_thrown_6x9-perfectebookDreams.  Dreams are a series of thoughts, images or emotions that occur while sleeping.  Having daydreams is something that is pleasurable for you while you are awake.  Most of us dream about what our lives would be like when we get older or what we want to be/want to do in life.  Whenever you hear someone say “I’m living the dream”, the things they thought about when they were younger is happening for them now.  Is it possible to live the dream or is the best we can do is hope for the best?

Kalina Denise Harris is a young girl with a lot of big dreams.  Kalina comes from a small town but she has big city dreams, and she can’t wait to leave this small town behind!  Kalina has dreams of going to a big college and leaving all of the sadness that she has to endure living in that smal town.  One day Kalina world is rocked to the core and now she doesn’t want to leave this small town that she calls home but she has no other choice.  What is she to do?  Where will she go?  How will she make it not being at home around people that she knows?

Dreams Thrown Away is a book about decisions.  Do we make the decision to follow our dreams, do we decide to fall in love and live happily ever after or do we decide to just make it through one day at a time?  This book has you on the edge of your seat with some of the situations that are happening.  You might be happy, you might be sad or you might just be in awe but whatever you are feeling you know that something in this book is causing you to feel that way.  I enjoyed the character interaction and the flow of this book, it is an emotional rollercoaster.  Bailey has written this book to make you want to read more.  This is my first time reading one of her books but not the last, I will gladly continue this series.

Appearances by K. Reshay

63306637_Kindle Ready Front Cover JPEG_7070994Appear ~ to be or to come into sight.  When you appear somewhere, you are able to be seen or at the very least your presence is known.  Some people make a grand appearance because they like to be seen while others just are barely noticeable.  However you appear to a person it will be a lasting impression, that’s why when you show your true self you are never forgotten.

Toni and Maya met on the first day of college.  Their first time being away from home they developed a quick bond.  To them, they were the sisters that the other never had.  As they get older and hopefully a little bit wiser, they start to discover things about each other that is not very favorable.  What should they do?  How should they go about addressing these issues and is it even worth speaking about?  Can and will the friendship survive or will they go their separate ways?

Appearances is a book about realization.  When you meet a person you are seeing what they want you to see, not the real and true them.  As time goes along, you start to get comfortable and the real them makes an appearance.  That is what is happening in this story, it is about friends who eyes aren’t totally open towards each other.  The story line flows and the book makes you take another look at the characters.  You are trying to decide if you really like that person or were you tricked.

The excitement that occurs in this freshman novel is the beginning to a very long writing career and I look forward to reading more from Reshay.  Congratulations to a very good start!

Appearances can be purchased through Amazon.com (Kindle and paperback) and BarnesandNoble.com (Paperback).

Better Late Than Never by Kimberla Lawson Roby (Rev. Curtis Black series book 15)

bltnFinale ~ the close or termination of something, the last and often climactic event or item in a sequence.  That more than accurately describes this novel.  We all knew this day was coming but for it finally to be here is surreal.  This is the 15th and final book in the Reverend Curtis Black series and it has been an awesome ride but all good things must come to an end.  We have been through every emotion possible with this man and we continue to come back, that is the sign of a great author.

Curtina Black is the youngest of Reverend Curtis Black children and she has fallen right in line with his other children.  Curtina has been as close to perfect since she has been with Curtis and Charlotte but as of late she has discovered the quickest way to torture her parents, by being a typical teen.  It doesn’t matter what Curtis and Charlotte does, they can’t seem to get anything right according to their youngest daughter and likewise she is seeming to do everything wrong in her parents eyes.  Who will break first and will be the consequences if any?  Will the Black family survive this last child and the trials and tribulations that she is sending them through?  Is this marriage strong enough?  Who will come out the victor?

Better Late Than Never is a book about love and forgiveness.  There are several situations going on in this final novel in the Reverend Curtis Black series but the one thing that is understood is love conquers all.  We have been with the good Reverend since the beginning with Casting The First Stone, we have seen wives come and go, lovers come and go and children coming from every direction but through it all the one thing that is constant is love.  I love the way Roby directs her characters because they could be you, me or anyone that we know.  The writing is so realistic that it makes you want to search for the REAL Reverend Black!  I am sorry to see this series end BUT maybe Rev. Black will visit in a standalone book.  So long Reverend Black, it has been a pleasure!

Better Late Than Never can be purchased nationwide everywhere you buy your favorite books.

marriage lieIt has been said that the first two to five years of marriage are the hardest.  You are still getting to know each other, learning how to cohabitate and dealing with blended families.  If you can make it through that part then you should be okay.  That doesn’t mean that you stop learning about each other that just means that you should have gotten through the shocking parts already.

Will and Iris have been happily married for seven years.  They are finally ready to start enlarging their family.  They have the perfect home to raise a family and they are getting started but then the unthinkable happen.  Tragedy strikes and now Iris is trying to find out what has happen and why.  In the process she is discovering that she had not learned everything and she is confused and hurt.  How is she going to figure out why this series of events is happening and what is she going to do about it.

The Marriage Lie is a thriller.  It is a romantic thriller that will catch you off guard.  You are trying to follow and then you are thrown for a loop.  It is not a bad loop you just won’t be prepared.  Belle has written this book so that  you are engrossed in the book until the very end and then you are still thinking.  I enjoyed the character interaction and the story line of this novel and I look forward to reading more from Belle.

The Wrong Husband 2: The Finale by B.M. Hardin

wh2Marriage is probably the hardest job you will ever have in your life.  It is hard enough trying to figure out what you like and what makes you happy now you have to figure out and maintain what makes someone else happy too.  There has to be an easier way.  When you are getting to know a person and decide to get married, you are still learning about that person.  As long as you are together you will always find out something new about that person.  What if the new things you discover is something that you are not willing to accept or deal with?  How will your life proceed then?

Sassi is just making it by.  Never would she had thought that her life would be so complicated. While she thought she knew that she married the right man she had began to have doubts.  It wasn’t uncommon for a bride or groom to have butterflies on their wedding day, that was a big step!  What was uncommon was for her to continue to wonder.  Yes she loved Eddie and yes she loved their family but why was the butterflies still there after ten years ?  Had she always felt like this and just put it on the back burner or was this something new that she was letting come to the forefront?

The Wrong Husband 2 is picking up where The Wrong Husband left off.  You have everyone trying to be with and figure out who they are supposed to be with.  Hardin brings a new twist to this book and it had me walking away from the book to get myself together.  You have characters that will have you thinking “what in the hell is she thinking?” or wondering “where can I find this author, I’m mad now!”  I love writing that get you in your feelings, that makes the book more relatable to the reader.  The story line had a certain flow to it that allows you to keep up with is going on  and not be lost.  I will continue to read books by Hardin if she keeps writing like this!

The Wrong Husband 2: The Finale can be purchased on Amazon.com (both Kindle and paperback, Barnes and Noble (Paperback) and anywhere you purchase your favorite reading material.

Life After Death: A Romantic Suspense by TJ Graham

40587406 (2)When you get married you agree to love each other until death do us part.  Then what?  Death is final.  There is no doubt about that, but what about those left behind?  Is death final for them or is it possible to pick back up your life and continue on? Is it going to be you and your new person or is it always going to be three of you in the relationship?

Dr. Andre Lang is a dedicated husband and a father.  He loves his wife and daughter, they are his reason for breathing.  He is a successful OB/GYN and his wife Rene is Professor of African History at the University of Memphis.  They were living a great life in Memphis until one day when his world was shaken apart.  Where did his wife and daughter disappear to?  There is no reason for them to just leave, what has happened to them?  What if they don’t come back, what will he do?  How will he survive with his two reasons for living?

Mackenzie Hill is a wife and mother of three.  This is the life she has always dreamed of, it doesn’t get any better than this.  Just when you believe that everything is going your way, life throws you a curve ball.  Your life is turned upside down and you have to figure out how to make life work again.  Is it possible to have happiness after such sorrow?  Should you just hide in a corner or get right back up on that horse?

Life After Death:A Romantic Suspense is a very good read for a freshman novel.  This book has everything that you are looking for that the title proclaims that it has.  Your characters are interacting with each other and it seems familiar to you like you know these people or this could possible be your life.  You are reading and then you are laughing at and with some of the characters and talking to others.  Graham did very well in this break out novel and I look forward to reading more of his work.

Life After Death: A Romantic Suspense is available through Amazon.com (Kindle and paperback) and BarnesandNoble.com (Nook and paperback)
