The Kingdoms of Sodom and Gomorrah by Eros

KingdomsWhen you hear the names Sodom and Gomorrah there are things that come to mind: Bible, sin, sex, homosexuality, fire and brimstone.  All of these things are true and are touched upon in this novel, with a twist.  This novel by Eros, author of Budussy, is giving a story of the kingdoms of Sodom and Gomorrah from the inside out and it is a very interesting tale.

King Bera is the King of Sodom.  He has a wife, Queen Yaminah and their twin sons Princes Tyrus and Tyson.  King Birsha is King Bera’s first cousin and the King of Gomorrah, he has a wife, Queen Tamara and their son Prince Malachi and daughter Princess Sabina.  These two Kings rule their kingdoms in their own way with their own rules and taxes but the one that is for certain, someone will one day have to replace them as King.  What is being shown is the measures that one will go to in order to obtain a kingdom.  At the end of the day we all must remember, there is only ONE KING.

The Kingdoms Of Sodom and Gomorrah is a very interesting read, it is very intriguing.  It starts out biblically sounds then goes into the sex and debauchery that took place in those times, and it can get pretty intense.  This is a very good read and I commend Eros on writing a book that has anything to deal with the Bible and/or scripture and it is not considered “christian fiction”, great job and keep up the great work.

Cruz Control by LeRedeaux

cruz controlThey say true love only comes once in a life time, but will you recognize it when it comes or will you let it pass you by?

Shawnee is an over the road truck driver and in that line of work you meet many people from many different walks of life, but what are the chance that you will continue to run into the same person over and over again?  Cruz is also an over the road truck driver who happens to be an owner-operator so he makes his own route and his own schedule but he one thing he does know is that he wants to continue to run into Shawnee every chance he gets.  With these two crossing paths so much is it just coincidence or is it fate?  Only time will tell.

Cruz Control is a short story because it is only 51 pages long but it gives you a good read while you are there.  I have read this author before and I can honestly say that she gives you something to keep coming back for.  Good job, keep up the good work.

Cruz Control is available on Amazon.com in Kindle format only and on BN.com in Nook format only.

Love and Lies In The River City by D. Elaine Fields

love and lies in the river cityMarriage is supposed to be forever when you marry your true love but when at first you don’t succeed as the saying goes, try again.  Marriage is until death do us part so you want a lifetime to be with someone who you want to grow old with, so the search continues.

Lawrence Moses is married to Adrian and has been for many years.  They have a big beautiful house and a beautiful six-year-old daughter.  Adrian runs her own real estate company and Lawrence is her right hand man at the company.  Things appear to be running smoothly until Lawrence runs into Dawn Roberson at a fundraiser and his entire world changes.  Dawn Roberson is a very single, very beautiful young lawyer working her way to the top at her law firm.  Against Dawn’s best judgement and with her mother’s encouragement, she attends the Gala alone and meets the most handsome and most interesting man in Lawrence Moses and that is where Dawn’s life begin’s it’s tailspin.  The heart can’t help what or who it loves but when it is being manipulated under false pretenses the outcome is jaded to say the least.  Do you follow your head or your heart?  Only time will tell.

Love and Lies In The River City is a classic love story with a spin on it.  You would not expect the way some of this story turns out but you would hope that it turned out that way.  It is a feel good story with some heartache thrown in for good measure, but then again isn’t that how life is?  There were minor editing issues but not enough to interrupt the flow of the story.  Very good freshman novel from Fields, I look forward to see more from her in the future.

Love and Lies In The River City is available for purchase through Amazon.com (paperback and Kindle) and BN.com (Nook only).

The Fear of Knowing by Tisha Starr

the fear of knowingThe word TRUTH according to Merriam-Webster dictionary means sincerity in action, character and utterance, the state of being the case.  We would all like to be told the truth regarding everything that life has to offer but as we all know some people just can’t handle the truth so you give them YOUR version of the truth, for good, bad or indifferent to help them continue into a state of happiness.  Only problem with your version and the REAL truth is once it is revealed you have to deal with any and all consequences regarding you decision to help.

Tasha Davis is a beautiful girl with a very big secret.  Only problem is, she doesn’t fully understand what her secret is.  Her parents love her and they give her their version of the truth regarding her secret but she doesn’t fully understand what problems that will cause until later in life.  Tasha is best friends forever with Jamia since first grade, once they became friends they are practically joined at the hip.  These two were so close that when they spoke they often spoke in unison.  Tasha didn’t fully understand what was going on with her and in her life but with a friend like Jamia it didn’t matter as much because whatever it was they were going to go through it together.  Once Tasha fully understood what was going on with her, was Jamia going to remain her BFF or would she leave her like she had been warned if her secret was revealed?

The Fear of Knowing is an excellent read.  I provides you with different scenarios regarding family and friendship and dealing life changing truths.  It is a book for the masses because it is not talking to just one person, this could be any of us on any day.  The subject matter is unfortunately today’s reality and it needs to be addressed and this book helps with ways to go about discussing this issue.  This book is an definite conversation starter.  I commend Tisha Starr for writing this book and I hope and pray that everyone will read this book with an open heart and open mind.  Great job Tisha, keep up the great work!

Don’t Ask My Neighbor by Kristofer Clarke

don't ask my neighborA neighborhood, your neighborhood is supposed to be your home.  The place where you raise your family, make life long friends and live out your days in happiness.  When we choose those neighborhoods, we have to make sure that we know who our neighbors are also, that could mean the difference between living a peaceful life or one of sheer torment.

Kennalyn Covell and Samantha Wells grew up neighbors and best friends.  Samantha moved into Kennalyn’s neighborhood after the house next door became empty.  Samantha was a few years older than Kennalyn but that did not stop them from bonding and growing up inseparable.  As adults they began to come into their own and do the things like adults do, Kennalyn found love and married Attorney Gage Delahunt and had a family but Samantha could just never find the right one to love.  Due to circumstances beyond Kennalyn’s control, just a mere three years into her perfect marriage her life started to spin horribly out of control and all due to one person ~ Samantha.  Life brings many surprises but little did Samantha know that karma AND revenge is a dish best served cold!

Don’t Ask My Neighbor is a book about trust and friendship and lack there of.  This book displays how you should live life with eyes wide open and never take life for granted.  Clarke gives a story of betrayal that would make anyone reading giving side glances to their supposed best friend and spouses.  He takes us through very detailed events and schemes in order to get to the end result ~ happiness.  There were some parts that seemed a little long-winded with unnecessary details but overall it was a very good read.  The acronym for the title is D.A.M.N. and that is what you will find yourself saying throughout this novel.  It states that it is an J.B. Graybourne novel, so that means that we shall see more from him and you will love his character.  Kudos to Clarke on another great read!!!

Don’t Ask My Neighbor can be purchased through Amazon.com (paperback and Kindle), BN.com (Nook only) and on the author’s website:  http://www.kristoferclarke.webs.com/.

Knuckleheadz by CJ Hudson

knuckleheadzIn life we should choose our friends wisely.  It should be known that if we are in a bind then you can call on them and vice versa and when you find that person you should keep them for life.  That is what we find going on in the streets of Cleveland, OH.

Antwan, Niko, Chris, Temp and Bishop are a group of friends that grew up together and had each other’s backs.  These guys are looking for a way to get some money, quick and fast and by any means possible.  When it is decided to rob one of the neighborhood stores, there is tension in the group because that is the store that Bishop works at.  Promises are made not to hurt anyone at the store but in the heat of the moment, things change and things happen.  Between the stresses that some of the group is having in their homes and trying to make some cash quick, the dynamics of the group change but they are still loyal to each other because at the end of the day it’s Knuckleheadz or nothing.

Knuckleheadz is a book about friendship, family and loyalty.  Even though the backdrop is crime, there is a story to read in there.  There were some editing issues but not enough to stop the flow of the book.  I am waiting patiently on the sequel to see what is happening in the story, there were many things left unanswered.  CJ Hudson is an awesome author and I look forward to reading more of his work.

Knuckleheadz can be purchased through Amazon.com (paperback and Kindle) and BN.com (Nook book only).
